A day of exercise!

Well this morning started with my second Pilates session. It’s a really relaxing form of exercise using muscles I never knew I had. Some of the postures were quite tricky to perform, especially with a dodgy knee!

As Rachel said earlier in the week it is probably the first exercise/ sport I have partaken in for 20 plus years.

After I recovered I took little Miss M and a friend to Jump Warehouse- an indoor trampoline park.

Just watching made me feel exhausted. Did I join in? Not with my knee, as I would tell Mr M!

Blue skies over Dunwich

Easter Sunday and we were lucky to have wonderful blue skies again as we walked through the woods and heathland in Dunwich.

Spring lambs were enjoying the warmth, as they laid in the fields.

We even found a bridge crossing over a slow moving stream and attempted a game of ‘Pooh sticks.’

After a lovely lunch in The Ship, we wandered on the shingle beach. The blue skies were rapidly giving way to grim grey ones, so we decided to retreat to the car and make for home.

A good day was had by all. I wonder what tomorrow has in store!

Wonderful weather

Well today is Good Friday, the start of my Easter holidays, and what wonderful weather we are having.

Blue skies and 24c according to the thermometer in the car.

The daffodils are blooming in their natural habitat, and I’ve even seen an Easter bunny enjoying the sun.

The forecast for the rest of the weekend is not so good, so I better get Mr M to get the meadow in our back garden cut as soon as we get home!

It’s been a while!

Well, how time flies! It’s been 5 months since I last blogged, and I have no excuses as to why it’s been so long. Can’t be bothered, haven’t got time, I’ll do it later or tomorrow, are all reasons not to that come to mind.

Why leave things till another day when life is too short? Cease the day and enjoy everyday as it is the last. I know this sounds a little maudling, but I am sitting in a doctors surgery  30 minutes early for an appointment!

It’s surprising the amount of things that have happened over the last few months. We’ve attended a 90th birthday party, a wedding

  and attended a school reunion.

We’ve visited London, Cambridge, Thetford and Clippesby! We’ve had afternoon tea on a London bus

and barbecued in the woods. Travelled in a row boat, a punt, a train  and on the Emirates Airline.

Such wonderful times and memories to cherish for years to come.

Just like those shown in some photos I have recently found of happy family memories .

Time to go,the doctor calls!

New York

Well a truely memorable trip to New York  City is now over but many happy memories will live on forever. This is due to the great company of my  two ’50 something’ friends.

From the thought provoking visit to Ground Zero,

the ferry ride to Liberty and Ellis Islands,

image

a nightime visit to the View from The Rock,

image

image

there were too many special moments to single out as a favourite.

We saw singing servers and ‘Beautiful’ on Broadway,

image

popped along to Wall Street,

image

shopped on Maddison Avenue,

and strolled through Central Park.
image

Champagne, Prosecco, wine and cocktails flowed regularly at all times of the day.

But none of this would of been so enjoyable without the company of  Mrs P and Mrs T, two lovely ladies who I fell honoured to call friends. And of course Mr M, Mr P and Mr T who encouraged us to go, and I expect are dreading their next credit card statements!
HAPPY DAYS!

Wells, Easter Sunday

Had a lovely family day at Wells today. An early start, after waking the young ones, enabled us to nab a free parking space down a little side road on our arrival.
A walk along the Quay saw many people with buckets of crabs,  they had caught on lines or in nets. We carried on along the path towards the beach, pausing along the way as Rosie made friends. No less than 5 Schnauzers did we see.
The beach was packed with families playing games, dogs chasing balls and walkers.

I saw a seal pop its head up in the channel leading out to sea. Rosie had a great time running and splashing in the wet sand. We then strolled back through the pinewoods,  finding a den along the way.

A refreshment stop was well over due, so we munched into sausage rolls, pasties, cake and ice cream and drank tea and coffee. Rachel even saw a colleague who had come down from Northampton for the day.
A great day ended with everyone falling asleep in the car on the way home. Oh.. and Rosie needing a bath when we got in.

Theatre trips

Every time we go to the theatre, which is not very often, we say we must go more regularly. So tonight I have set the wheels in motion to put this right.

My last visit, was last Friday to St Georges Theatre, Great Yarmouth with a good friend. The TestostaTones are a local Doo -Wop group, whose show “Totally Wireless” was superb.

tt

I’m all for people having a good time and singing along, in tune, but why is it that some people insisted on talking through the show and then get upset when told to SHUT UP? Especially as they were `friends`of one of the performers, surely all the more reason to show the right kind of support.

Previous to that we watched Emily in Andrew Lloyd Webbers, CATS, performed by Dusmagrik Young People’s Theatre Company.A spectacular production by such a young cast. Spookliy the a fore mentioned group all started out in Dusmagrik, and had delivered a workshop for them the week before.

Tonight I have spent 20 minutes booking tickets for Barnum and Top Hat at Norwich,Theatre Royal.I nervously watched the clock ticking down in the top right hand corner of the screen, telling me how long I had left to complete the transaction.I narrowly completed it in time, phew!

So, that’s two professional shows to look forward to in the near future. Also creeping up is Emily’s show, “Bless Em All,” a review type show based on war time songs.

Hopefully there will be no, alcohol fueled, hangers on, at any of these shows. Or I may need to take my Rottweiler with me!

New Year

Well another new year has arrived. This year we celebrated on Gorleston cliffs in the freezing cold. We must of been mad all wrapped out, no wonder we only met two other people.

I wonder what this one has in store.

Last year saw Nigel and I turn the big 50 and Rebecca 18. I travelled to Prague, Rome, London, Poole and Clippesby. I tried goat for the first time and had my most expensive meal out ever in Rome.

Well, tomorrow heralds the first new change of the year. On returning to work tomorrow I will have a new boss/head teacher. So let the new year begin!
